As our American friends celebrated Thanksgiving last week, we thought it was only right to dedicate this week’s blog to the concept of gratitude.

FIRST, IT’S TIME FOR A CHECK IN

When was the last time you have told someone you are grateful for them? If the answer is anything but today, take a few minutes to express your gratitude towards someone who deserves it. It could be a friend, a family member, a colleague, employee or client. Chances are, you’ll make their day!

FOCUSING ON THE POSITIVE

Expressing gratitude on a daily basis not only makes others around you feel good, but makes you feel good too. It’s easy to get consumed in the negativity that surrounds us, it can become quite consuming and finding the positives amongst it all can be difficult at times. However, focusing in on the good things can make all the difference and you will find yourself attracting more and more positivity.

ACTION POINTS

Try to start every morning with something you are grateful for – and if possible, try to find a way to express that gratitude. This positive energy will brush off on those around you, and has the potential to turn your good team into a great one. People are more likely to put their time and energy into something that they get something out of. That feel good feeling will encourage your team to put 100% into everything they do – especially if they are reminded of their value within the business.

THE BENEFITS

Keeping this attitude consistent within the workplace can also benefit your customers. For me personally, I’m more likely to return to places that have a positive atmosphere and friendly staff. Usually that atmosphere is influenced by you – as the business owner.

THE CHALLENGE

Our challenge for you this week is to tell someone each day you are grateful for them. We guarantee it will make their day – and in turn make you feel good too.
